Reflections on the public and the private.
In our society, our private and personal identities are built in public spaces, especially in the streets, theatres of our lives. In this series, I confronted the inner self of several characters to the public reality of the street. The characters’ dreams, fears and desires are symbolically represented and become alive in the middle of public spaces. My point is to wonder how someone can build his/her inner identity in a world in which almost everything is public. I tried to show the tensions and difficulties that are implied in this identity development: the characters are confronted to an environment that is not always the world they were dreaming about. These pictures thus represent what happens when the deepest content of the human mind meets the harsh reality of public spaces.
